Welcome to my photo blog, A River’s Journal.
This is a personal project.
It is a one-year photographic diary of the view on the Lambro river in Monza, Italy.
It is a one-year photographic diary of the view on the Lambro river in Monza, Italy.
I am shooting the same view everyday, taking one photo in the morning and one in the night.
I don’t know where this will take me, but so far it has been really challenging.
Apart from telling the story of this small river, this is going to be a learning process for me:
I don’t know much about photography or about websites and photo blogs.
So I have plenty to learn and one year to make it.
So I have plenty to learn and one year to make it.
Will I stick to it, abandon it, learn, get bored or else? I really don’t know.
It is really impressive the amount of knowledge on photography out there on the internet, so I just leave the door open to all those who would like to share their impressions/advices on my project with me.
I also accept criticism, but please be nice ;-)

Une très belle série. Great photos. Great work !
Merci!! Thank you!!
Hi Juliana, love the site!
I’ve added a link back to your site from mine – feel free to do the same.
Thanks,
Paul
I watched your clip and I think it’s an interesting project you have chosen. I have not seen a blog yet, who has tried this. I live on the banks of a river myself, and I am amazed at all the changes that happen. I have never thought about photographing the same spot every day, and I love the thought behind it. Slowing down is not easy to do. What wonderful food for thought….
Roni!!
Why don’t you do it yourself? I am looking for other website with a similar idea, I am sure I am not the only one who is doing this.
It doesn’t have to be every single day -I am probably trying too hard- it could be once a week or a month.
Let me know!!
Juliana, I love this idea so much I shared it with my husband. The two of you have inspired such a blog post from me for tomorrow! I will dedicate it to you…my new friend. I hope you’ll visit and see what I’m up to.;-) Keep up the good work you are doing. I think it’s wonderful….
